The Counties are in the process of preparing plans to help establish a positive future for the region. We want to include your thoughts and ideas in the planning process.

Public input is important to providing direction for the Plans. The implementation of these Plans ultimately requires that they reflect a shared view for the future of local communities. A public participation process has been started to maximize communication and interaction, and the work products will be refined using information provided by all stakeholders.

Throughout the planning process, the public will have several opportunities to learn more about the Plans, and help shape the priorities for the future of your community and the region. These opportunities include:

• Website - This website contains summary information on the Plans and the process, and includes links to helpful documents and resources related to the Plans. You may also provide input to members of the Planning Team through the online comment form or by contacting a team member using information found on the Contacts page.
• Public Meetings - Public meetings will be held at key milestones during the planning process to provide residents and stakeholders the opportunity to review developments of the Plans and to provide comments. Dates and times for these meetings will be posted on this website, and provided to local governments and the media.
• Contacting the Counties - Feel free to contact officials at Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties to receive the latest information regarding the Plans. More information can be found on the Contacts page.
• Contacting the Steering Committee - A Steering Committee consisting of municipal representatives, business leaders, elected officials and other important stakeholders has been established to help guide development of the Plans. You are encouraged to contact a member of the Steering Committee to receive information on the Plans and to provide input.

With this process in place, the Plans will be continually updated and refined. Our goal is to integrate stakeholders’ views into the planning process and work toward a collective vision of the future for Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
